The dos and don'ts of using an insulated flask

Everyone loves a good vacuum flask as they are the perfect way to keep hot and cold drinks cold. When using an insulated bottle we can avoid using plastic, which helps to save and protect the planet.

Insulated water bottles are great for travelling, exercising or even just sitting at your desk. So yes, these are just a few of the reasons why we recommend that people try our insulated bottles.

However, we all know that the nagging feeling of not being sure what your thermos should and shouldn't do is real.

Luckily, we've got a few dos and don'ts for you.

Things you *should* do for your thermos.

Always wash your newly purchased thermos to avoid any bacteria or odours.

Allow freshly washed thermoses to air dry completely after removing the lid.

Use a sponge brush rather than a stainless steel brush as a stainless steel brush can damage its inner layer.

Please hand wash all parts of the flask as this will prolong the life of the container.

Please use warm water and washing up liquid to clean the flask. Rinse thoroughly in hot water, do not immerse in water and allow it to dry thoroughly.

Things you *shouldn't* do to your thermos flask.

Do not clean with chlorine and bleach as it will damage the stainless steel.

Do not stir the contents or insert solid or frozen objects of any kind into the flask (especially if the flask has a glass liner).

Avoid exposing the flask to any type of heat source such as a microwave oven.

Do not use the dishwasher for cleaning

Do not keep the flask in the fridge as it will not cool effectively due to its double insulation.
